A Colonial Muster

I had such a GOOD week. Nothing amazing happened other than the fact that I was in MA the entire week. I loved being able to sleep in my bed all week long and a couple days I even got out at a decent hour. Life was SOOOO good. J

I also had a great week in that quite a few of my friends from back in CA got in touch with me this week. It was great because I’ve been missing everyone so much lately. They must have felt my vibes across country.

I have decided that now that the "golden handcuffs" are off at work (i.e., I don't have to pay back my relocation costs) now that I've been in my assignment for a year, I'm looking for a new job. I dusted off the old resume and have started applying for something new. If you hear of any HR Sr. Manager / Director jobs in the Southern California or Chicago area, drop me a line. I might be interested.

Yesterday, I drug my butt out of bed, and after a year sabbatical, I rejoined Weight Watchers. I’m getting so fat that I just can’t stand myself anymore. As you’ve seen from the pictures, there is a LOT more of me to love than there was a year ago, and I have to get things back under control. I’ve only been doing this for one day, but the feeling of having things under control again is intoxicating. Now I want to be intoxicated by the sight of a smaller number on my scale by the end of the week. J

This weekend, I spent most of my time out and about. I had quite a few errands to run. I even got down to the Boston temple because I figured that it would be a beautiful drive. I wasn’t disappointed. I did do a session, but because there were so many people and so few workers, it took FOREVER. I had wanted to get over to Walden Pond to hike around it, but by the time I was done, it was getting dark.

Today I had planned on rushing right out of church in the hopes of getting back over to Walden Pond to hike around it, but the weather had turned cloudy and cold by the time I got out of church. I was bummed because I was really looking to get out and about. As I was driving home, I saw a sign saying there was going to be a “Colonial Muster” at a place near my home. I ran home and changed into some warm clothes and headed out to see what a Colonial Muster was. It was actually a very obscure little location, but the people were really into it. You could tell they had a real passion for it. There were quite a few people dressed up in colonial attire and they were giving gun and cannon demonstrations. A few crafts people were selling their wares. It really was cute and I was glad I dropped by.

On the way home, I was driving by the Veterinary School and the trees are just so incredible this time of year. I stopped and took a walk and snapped a few pictures, but the pictures just don’t really capture the beauty of the real thing.

Now I have to go get ready to head back to VA this week. My new boss is having an offsite meeting to get the entire team together at this really nice resort in Landsdown, VA. I’m looking forward to getting away even though I have to work. Here’s to another great week!
